The U13 National Cup side made a strong start to their 2024 campaign with a convincing win away at Upwood.
Winning the toss and electing to bat they set about building a solid score. Despite an early m wicket, Charlie B and Will C quickly steadied the ship, both retiring on 30. The middle order continued to pile on the runs with attacking innings from Theo K and George O, providing a very useful 18 in the dying stages of the innings.
With an imposing score of 195 to win, the U13s then put on an impressive display of pace bowling targeting the top of off stump. Charlie B took an impressive three wickets off his two maiden overs with Toby J taking a further three from his spell. Theo K and Oscar P cleaned up the tail with the final Upwood scalp falling to Amman…from his only delivery. Upwood came up short being held to just 53 runs by a mightily impressive BPCC fielding display, including an excellent wicketkeeping display from Henry P.
The team showed they can bat and bowl from nose to tail and maintained enormous focus, energy and spirit in the field.
