On a surface offering plenty of assistance to the seamers, Burghley Park found runs difficult to come by from the outset. The visitors' new-ball attack bowled with control and made early inroads, reducing Park to 24-2.
Harry Armstrong occupied the crease for 30 deliveries before being bowled by Chris Morley for 5, while Josh Gallimore fell for a duck after getting a good ball that leapt, caught by Matt Priestley off Charlie Baxter.
The innings was rebuilt by Dan Pellett, who produced the standout batting performance of the day. Further support came from James Biggs, whose 21 from 36 balls included three boundaries. Late runs from Nick Fisher, who remained unbeaten on 10 from 11 balls with two boundaries, helped push the total beyond 150. Teddy Hamilton added 2 before becoming the final wicket to fall.
The visitors' bowling effort was led by Morley, who claimed 4-37 from his 9 overs. Baxter delivered an excellent spell of 2-19 from 9 overs, including four maidens, while Robbie Townsend's figures of 1-14 from 7.5 overs set the tone early. Burghley Park's innings was also aided by 18 extras.

The home side continued to apply pressure through disciplined spells from Biggs and Josh Gallimore. Gallimore removed Nunn for 19 from 54 balls, with Stuart Biggs taking a good catch, as the visitors slipped to 63-2.
Despite those early breakthroughs, Townsend and Patel gradually wrestled control of the chase. Townsend played a composed innings, finishing unbeaten on 75 from 101 balls with 11 boundaries. Patel provided valuable support with 36 from 58 balls, striking four fours before being trapped lbw by Ahsan Azhar.
Azhar produced the most economical spell of the innings, returning figures of 1-8 from 3.2 overs, while James Biggs produced 1-17 from 6 overs and Gallimore claimed 1-31 from 9 overs.
There were also spells from Harry Armstrong, Nick Fisher and Stuart Biggs which challenged the Heckington batters but ultimately were fruitless in their return of wickets.
